SHAPES MASTERCLASS
LUMINESQUE, VANCOUVER, BC
DEC 2019
Join Bronwen Kettleson for a three-hour deep dive into chair choreography, flexibility conditioning and erotic movement in her Master Class on Friday, December 6 from 6:30-9:30PM at Hemlock and Broadway. This Master Class is a unique opportunity to learn from Bronwen's extensive experience and global training in yoga, acrobatics and performance art.-First you’ll condition with a flow sequence that builds technique, control, active flexibility and upper body strength. This serves as the foundation for the shapes and acrobatic skills you’ll learn for floor and chair work: splits, shoulder stands, side planks and more. Then, we’ll dive into an erotic chair routine that weaves the shapes into a powerful piece of sultry choreography. You’ll leave empowered with drills and cues you can apply to your dance training so you can continually improve long after the Master Class. -
100 HR YOGA TEACHER’S INTENSIVE
STUDIO 253, KAMLOOPS, B.C.
SEPT 2018May be taken as YACEP credit and or as part of a 100 HR Teacher's Intensive.Explore the conditioning work and technique behind popular styles of modern postural Yoga's (Power, Flow, Vinyasa, Hot) most foundational postures and linking movements. A proper foundation prepares the body, leads to greater understanding and builds the confidence needed to tackle more complex postures and transitions. Learn techniques that will help manage uncertainty and empower you and or your students to understand--specifically--the technique and conditioning work behind foundational postures, what may be missing or limiting a practice, what cues or alignment "rules" may be leading us astray, when and how to modify or move on to a progression most commonly found in modern postural yoga classes.

HURUM YOGA, PRANA HUSET, JOY YOGA, AND BALANCE YOGA OG PILATES
OSLO, NORWAY
JAN 2017
Each session has a different focus and experience level. Set the tone for 2017 with sessions designed to reevaluate our approach to postural yoga. Fundamental yoga postures will be deconstructed to analyze their place in the greater whole the yoga arts. Regardless of stylistic preference, a strong technical ability is the hallmark of a happy and progressive practice for many years to come. Students will be encouraged to explore their responses to postural techniques, which will include modifications for individual concerns. Bronwen's sequences will include exercises taken from other movement streams that target typical areas of need, such as wrist and shoulder drills designed to build both strength and mobility needed for any load-bearing upper body work. Students keen for further inspiration will be given progressions to bent arm balances and bridge work.
